STEP 1: CLEAN THE AREA
· Clean the area on the liner to be patched free from slime or dirt with a damp cloth
· Allow to this area to dry and clean the area again with metho and a clean rag
· Lightly abrade the area with a fine grade of sandpaper (just to rough up the surface a little)
· Make sure you have a flat hard surface behind the area to be patched (you can do this by gathering up some loose material to make a fold and place a board behind it – or tie string to a board and slide it behind the liner – string to retrieve it when you’re done)
STEP 2: CUT THE PATCH AND MARK IT ON THE LINER
· Without removing the wax paper, cut the patch to the size you need and place it on the liner and mark out its position on the liner with a pencil (best to round off the corners of the patch)
STEP 3: APPLY THE PRIMER
· With a small brush, apply a coat of Primer within the area you’ve marked and allow 30 seconds for it to go tacky to touch
STEP 4: ROLL ON THE PATCH
· Peel off the wax paper from your patch and carefully place the sticky side on the primed area
· Use a round roller to squash the patch to the surface. Work out any potential bubbles (preferably a rubber roller but anything smooth and round that can apply pressure)
